Actress Lucy Liu has described her experience of working with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ as nothing short of a dream, adding that the film promises to be ‘highly entertaining’.
The upcoming sequel, directed by David Frankel, follows the 2006 hit of the same name, which was also helmed by him. ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is scheduled to release on May 1 and will see Streep and Hathaway reprise their iconic roles.
Liu shared that she plays a ‘mysterious role’ in the film. “I think that’s what makes it special… I believe everyone is really looking forward to it,” she said in an interview.
“It’s going to be highly entertaining… It will deliver everything audiences expect, while also showing how these characters have evolved over time. I think that’s what viewers want—to see what’s changed after 20 years, because no one wants to be served the same story again,” she added.

The original film focused on Andy Sachs (Hathaway), an intelligent but fashion-inexperienced journalism graduate who moves to New York City aspiring to become a serious writer. In search of a job, she becomes a junior assistant to Miranda Priestly, the formidable editor-in-chief of the high-fashion magazine Runway.
The sequel will focus on Priestly’s struggle to navigate the decline of traditional print media, as she comes head-to-head with her former assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt), who has risen to become a powerful executive in a luxury group controlling crucial advertising revenue.
