In the highly anticipated and excited reboot of the venerable soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Former BJP MP from Amethi, Smriti Irani is poised to make a dramatic return to Indian television by playing the iconic role of Tulsi Virani. After a leaked photo of Tulsi's new appearance went viral and triggered fan nostalgia, the excitement surrounding the revival skyrocketed.
Smriti adheres to the original character's style in the picture by donning a rich maroon saree with an elaborate zari border. Reviving strong memories of the role that came to define an entire era of Indian television, her traditional ensemble is finished with a striking red bindi, temple jewellery, and a traditional black-beaded mangalsutra.

Adding to the excitement, Amar Upadhyay will also return as Mihir Virani, reuniting with Smriti Irani on screen. Their on-screen pairing was one of the most cherished in Indian television history. Although the reboot was initially slated to premiere on July 3, production delays have led to a slight shift in the release schedule.
A few days ago, Smriti took to Instagram to celebrate a major milestone—25 years since Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi first aired. In a heartfelt post, she wrote, "25 years ago, a story entered Indian homes and quietly became part of countless lives… This journey wasn’t mine alone."
