Harington said in an interview that his intimate scenes with his former onscreen sister were uncomfortable for a different reason.

After having played siblings on “Game of Thrones” for a long time, actors Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are having a dreadful time filming steamy scenes for their upcoming gothic horror film “The Dreadful”.

A behind-the-scenes video from the film’s shooting showed the pair—who grew close playing siblings Sansa and Jon Stark for nearly a decade—playfully gagging and retching the moment their onscreen kiss ended.

The crew’s laughter erupts as the stars pretend to be sick, highlighting the awkwardness of their new romantic dynamic.

Earlier, during a July 2025 interview, Turner, 29, jokingly apologised to “Game of Thrones” fans, saying, "It's really weird for all of us” that she and Harington, 39, are playing "lovers” in the new horror film.

On “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in August 2025, the mother of two recalled that she and her old friend were “both retching” during their intimate scenes.

Looking at the script for “The Dreadful” before shooting, she saw nothing but "kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex,” she quipped. "I'm like, 'Oh, shoot ... that's my brother.'"

More recently, Harington said in an interview that his intimate scenes with his former onscreen sister were uncomfortable for a different reason.

"It was slightly embarrassing, having to get on an apple box to kiss her because she's about a foot taller than me," he said in November 2025. "But other than that, my dignity was pretty intact."

In September 2024, Turner said in another interview that she was the one who suggested the “Industry” star for the part.

“They were trying to find someone for that role, and I was like, ‘You can’t not have Kit,’” she said at the time. “It’s set around the time of the ‘Wars of the Roses’, so we’ll probably be floating about in robes on clifftops again.”

The “Game of Thrones” cast has remained close since the HBO fantasy drama’s conclusion in 2019. Harington has been married to co-star Rose Leslie since 2018 and they share two children.

“The Dreadful”, from writer-director Natasha Kermani, also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Laurence O'Fuarain and Jonathan Howard. The gothic horror drama is in select theatres and on digital Friday, February 20.
