This is not the first time Hardy’s on-set friction with colleagues has made headlines.

Tom Hardy is officially out of British crime drama “Mobland” and fans are devastated.

Reports suggest that Hardy will not appear in the third chapter of the Paramount+ series following on-set problems with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others.

Production has already wrapped on season 2, which finished filming in March. Sources say Hardy was not asked to return to the series for season 3.

While a third season has not been officially announced, the show's massive success on the streaming platform makes a renewal very likely. However, the biggest mystery moving forward is exactly how the writers plan to write out Hardy’s character from the upcoming storyline.

Hardy stars as fixer Harry Da Souza in the hit series, which exploded onto Paramount+ last spring and rapidly climbed the ranks to become the platform's second most-watched show.

For fans, Hardy was not merely a name on the “MobLand” poster. He was the ultimate star power drawing them in, and the primary reason they pressed play on the series.

News of his departure from the show, meanwhile, has left the audience reeling, sparking widespread disappointment across social media as viewers grapple with the news. Many feel the hit show can possibly not survive without its magnetic lead.

Created by Ronan Bennett, “Mobland” stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Paddy Considine. It follows the Harrigan crime family, headed by Brosnan’s Conrad and his wife, Maeve (Mirren). Considine plays their son Kevin.

Butterworth and Bennett wrote all 10 episodes of the show.

This is not the first time Hardy’s on-set friction with colleagues has made headlines. He had an infamous fall out with co-star Charlize Theron while filming “Mad Max: Fury Road”. Director George Miller later revealed he frequently had to coax Hardy out of his trailer, while Kyle Buchanan’s behind-the-scenes book, “Blood, Sweat, and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road,” documented the actor's aggressive behaviour during production.
