A routine dining experience turned into a horrifying ordeal for Ishani when she discovered not one but eight cockroaches in a plain dosa at the well-known Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place (CP).
Ishani shared her appalling experience in a post on Instagram, labelling the incident as "gut-wrenching."
The incident occurred earlier in March, when Ishani and her friend decided to indulge in a South Indian meal at the cafe.
To their shock, Ishani spotted something "odd" on her dosa and, upon closer inspection, found multiple cockroaches infesting her meal, causing immediate distress and disgust.
"It breaks my heart to recall what has happened," Ishani lamented in her post, detailing the unhygienic conditions of the restaurant's kitchen, which she described as far from being "an apple to the eye," highlighting its stench and partial lack of roofing.
Expressing her disappointment, Ishani questioned the restaurant's reputation and carelessness despite its busy hours.
She stressed her right to food safety and disclosed that, despite promises of compensation, she remained determined to bring attention to the issue.
Following the incident, Ishani took proactive steps by filing a complaint at the local police station in CP and reaching out to relevant authorities responsible for food, sanitation, and hygiene.
She voiced her determination to seek accountability and urged authorities to take swift action against the establishment for compromising on hygiene and safety standards.
Ishani's social media post quickly garnered attention, sparking widespread outrage and calls for accountability from concerned individuals across various platforms.
