The death toll from the ongoing war with Iran—now a full-scale regional conflict with global ramifications—has exceeded 1,500, with no official Israeli casualty figures released due to strict media censorship.

Conflict analysts and independent researchers warn that the scale of destruction across Israel, Iran, Lebanon, and US bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar points to significantly higher casualties than those officially acknowledged by any side.

Various estimates indicate 1,332 have been killed in Iran (including military personnel), 217 in Lebanon, 150–200 in Israel (figure contested due to censorship), 7 US personnel (figure contested), and 9–23 foreign workers.

Approximately 70–80 per cent of the casualties are civilians, 10–15 per cent are military, and security personnel from various countries, and the remainder are foreign nationals working in the affected nations.

In addition to fatalities, the war has displaced more than 100,000 people in Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq, while forcing thousands of foreign residents to flee the conflict zones. Thousands more have been injured.

In Iran, 4,000–6,000 people have suffered injuries; 1,619+ have been injured in Israel (including more than 20 from the Beit Shemesh strike); 18–20 US security personnel have been injured in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar; and 638–798 civilians have been injured in Lebanon.

From India’s perspective, the crisis is particularly alarming given that more than 9 million Indian nationals are working, studying, or residing in Israel and various Gulf states.

The Indian government continues to monitor the situation closely with deep concern for their safety and potential evacuation needs.

The region remains on a knife-edge as Israel and the United States have intensified aerial bombardment of Iran, while Tehran has vowed to sustain its resistance through repeated waves of missile and drone strikes.

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have categorically ruled out any ceasefire or negotiations with the Trump administration.

Both leaders have declared that Iran is fully prepared to confront US and Israeli forces should they attempt a ground invasion—similar to Israel’s failed operation in Lebanon.
