At least 57 terrorists and 10 security personnel were killed in coordinated operations across 12 locations in Pakistan’s Balochistan province between Friday night and Saturday afternoon, officials confirmed. The operations targeted insurgents involved in attacks on security forces and civilians.

The violence comes days after security forces killed 41 militants in two separate counter-terror measures in Panjgur and Harnai districts. Shahid Rind, spokesperson for the Balochistan government, said the attacks were reported in Quetta, Gwadar, Makran, Hub, Chaman, and Naseerabad.

“The attacks targeted police, Frontier Corps, and civilians at different locations between Friday and Saturday night,” Rind said. He added that a family of five, including a woman and three children, was killed near Gwadar during the assaults. Identification of the deceased militants is ongoing, with officials yet to confirm whether the fatalities included only insurgents or also members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Security forces continue to conduct clean-up operations in areas where militants fled after exchanges of heavy gunfire. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said all attacks were “averted by the forces” but confirmed the deaths of 10 policemen and paramilitary Frontier Corps personnel. He also reported that explosives planted on a railway track in Naseerabad were successfully defused by the bomb disposal squad.

Earlier, security forces had killed 52 militants in separate operations across three provinces. Six terrorists were killed in Punjab on Friday, while 41 were killed in intelligence-based operations in Balochistan on Thursday. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five TTP militants, including a commander, were neutralised.

Balochistan has witnessed a surge in violence in recent years. Data from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) indicated fatalities increased from 787 to 956 in the previous year, a rise of nearly 22 per cent. The Islamabad-based Pak Institute for Peace Studies reported a 34 per cent escalation in terror attacks nationwide in 2025, with 699 incidents recorded across Pakistan.

Officials said the recent operations reflect intensified efforts to counter insurgency in the province, which remains a hotspot of violence targeting both security personnel and civilians.
