Despite the threat, Iran has launched a massive barrage of hundreds of missiles and drones across the Middle East.

Unprecedented violence has erupted for a third day in the Middle East, as Iran has escalated its retaliatory attacks offensively against US and Israeli interests in light of the joint US-Israeli operation that led to the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran. The potential for a regional war now exists as Iran continues to respond aggressively to the joint military operation by both countries.

President Trump of the United States issued an ominous message to Tehran, indicating there would be significant repercussions if Iran conducts any additional attacks against American or Israeli interests. Despite the threat, Iran has launched a massive barrage of hundreds of missiles and drones across the Middle East. US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Monday the deaths of the first three American service members killed in the campaign, identifying them as Army soldiers based in Kuwait.

The Israeli Air Force launched a "second wave" of heavy bombardments on Monday morning, aimed at achieving total air superiority and dismantling Iran’s remaining command structures.

For the second consecutive day, explosions have rocked Dubai and Doha. Iranian missiles and drones have targeted key infrastructure in the UAE and Qatar, with debris causing damage near Dubai International Airport and the Jebel Ali port.

While the UAE’s air defences have intercepted the majority of incoming threats, authorities confirmed that at least three people — including nationals from Pakistan and Bangladesh — have been killed in the Emirates since the strikes began.

In the north, Israel has intensified its strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs after Hezbollah launched a flurry of rockets and drones in solidarity with Tehran.

The aviation world remains in a state of paralysis, with major hubs like Dubai and Doha effectively closed and tens of thousands of travellers stranded. With Iran’s Supreme National Security Council vowing that the "story is not over," the diplomatic "red line" appears to have been well and truly crossed.
