An Indian man was attacked with a machete and beheaded, allegedly following a dispute with his employee at a motel in the US city of Dallas.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when Chandra Nagamallaiah, originally from Karnataka, reportedly instructed Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, 37, not to use the faulty washing machine. Cobos-Martinez was angered as Nagamallaiah asked another employee to translate his instructions rather than speaking to him directly. The accused then seized a machete and stabbed the 50-year-old multiple times.
Nagamallaiah reportedly attempted to flee across the car park towards the front office but was pursued by the accused. Nagamallaiah’s wife and 18-year-old son emerged from the front office and tried to intervene, but Cobos-Martinez pushed them aside.

The accused then decapitated the victim and kicked his head. A video has gone viral showing Cobos-Martinez picking up the severed head and carrying it to a skip. He was arrested as he left the skip area, covered in blood and still holding the machete.
The Indian Consulate expressed condolences for the “tragic” death of Nagamallaiah, stating he was “brutally killed” at his workplace. “We are in contact with the family and providing all possible support. The accused is in the custody of Dallas Police. We are closely monitoring the situation,” the Consulate posted on X. Cobos-Martinez, charged with capital murder, reportedly has a prior criminal record in Houston, including arrests for vehicle theft and assault.
