Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the agreement reached with the International Atomic Energy Agency last month remains null and void.
The deal covered “practical modalities” for resuming inspections of nuclear facilities in the country, which will now be cancelled by the authorities.
Araghchi, speaking during a meeting attended by foreign ambassadors and other officials, said that Iran is no longer bound by the agreement following the re-imposition of UN sanctions on the country in September.
Referring to the re-imposition of the sanctions triggered by Britain, France, and Germany, he said that the enforcement of the snapback mechanism has altered all circumstances.
He added that Iran will continue its nuclear enrichment but expressed readiness for any solution that could build trust in its peaceful nuclear programme.

Washington and Tel Aviv have warned that they will not hesitate to strike Iranian nuclear facilities again if Tehran continues to develop and enrich weapons-grade uranium.
Meanwhile, Araghchi’s comments appear to indicate Iran’s willingness to engage in negotiations with the US and other relevant stakeholders seeking a diplomatic solution regarding its nuclear sites.
The UN sanctions had been lifted under a 2015 pact that Iran signed with world powers in exchange for curbs on its nuclear programme.
During the recent UN General Assembly and subsequent convening of the UN Security Council, snapback sanctions on Iran were re-imposed last week.
Britain, France, and Germany implemented the snapback process in August, citing Iran’s continued uranium enrichment activity that violated the deal.
