IDF destroys Gaza towers as reoccupation plan emerges.

The Israeli military has stepped up its attacks on the Gaza Strip despite facing massive international backlash, with plans to reoccupy Gaza City.

On Sunday, the IDF destroyed two main high-rise apartment buildings sheltering several hundred displaced Palestinians.

Israeli authorities have called on Hamas to surrender, with Foreign Minister Gideon Saar telling reporters that the war could end tomorrow if Hamas releases hostages.

Protesters who have been on the streets over the past several months have said they oppose the plans for the reoccupation of Gaza and demand the immediate release of the captives and an end to the conflict.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Hamas confirmed it had received a fresh ceasefire proposal from the Israeli government aimed at ending the war.

Hamas said it was discussing ways to develop those ideas. "Hamas is willing to return to the negotiation table immediately," the group stated.

The group has consistently said it wishes to end the conflict with Israel by securing a respectable prisoner exchange deal, an arrangement that Israeli authorities have agreed to in the past.

More than 64,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has given the Palestinian group Hamas a "last warning" to accept the terms of a deal suggested by Washington to release the Israeli hostages held by the group and end the war in Gaza.

He said in a social media post: "The Israelis have accepted my terms," while calling on the group to follow suit.

"I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning; there will not be another one!" he added.
