Nearly 100 residents of Jharkhand are currently stranded in Dubai following recent attacks that have led to heightened tensions and the temporary closure of airport operations.

The group, which had travelled to the UAE on a corporate tour organised by a private company, is now awaiting safe return amid uncertainty and fear.

Sources said that the stranded individuals hail from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Palamu, Giridih, Chatra and Khunti districts of Jharkhand. The group included company employees as well as several family members who had joined the leisure trip.

Some of the stranded persons have shared a video from their hotel, in which distant sounds resembling explosions could be heard. They said the group was scheduled to return to Ranchi on the 28th via Abu Dhabi International Airport, but the attacks began around the same time, leading to the closure of airport operations.

They added that they were later moved to Dubai and accommodated in a hotel. “We are safe inside the hotel premises, but there is an atmosphere of fear due to the developments around us,” said a person requesting anonymity.

The stranded individuals have appealed to the Government of India for assistance and safe evacuation. Back home in Jharkhand, their families remain in constant contact and are urging authorities to intervene at the earliest.

All eyes are now on the Centre and the concerned agencies to ensure the safe and swift return of the group to India.
