On Truth Social, US President Donald Trump said the agreement with Iran had been completed.

The United States and Iran have agreed to a peace deal and an “immediate and permanent” cessation of military operations across all fronts, including Lebanon, mediator Pakistan announced, offering the clearest indication yet that the more than three-month conflict in the Middle East may be nearing its end. The agreement, later confirmed by Iran’s deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, will immediately end hostilities between Iran and the US.

“The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” US President Donald Trump confirmed shortly afterward in a statement issued on June 14, coinciding with celebrations marking his 80th birthday.

The day witnessed dramatic developments, with Trump earlier expressing frustration over what he described as delays caused by Israel. He accused Israel of holding up the agreement through an airstrike on Beirut, saying the attack had complicated and postponed the finalisation of the peace deal.

Meanwhile, announcing the development on Truth Social, Trump said the agreement with Iran had been completed and authorised the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all. I hereby fully authorise the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and simultaneously authorise the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow,” Trump wrote.

“Ships are beginning to move, many of them fully loaded with oil, out of the Strait of Hormuz. They are travelling along the southern route, which is completely safe, secure and clear,” Trump further wrote.

Earlier, Trump announced that the United States and Iran had finalised an agreement to bring an end to their 107-day conflict, a war that had sparked concerns across global energy markets and contributed to a broader economic crisis.

PM Modi welcomes US-Iran ‘understanding’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and Iran to end the ongoing conflict in West Asia, expressing hope that the agreement would help restore peace, stability and freedom of navigation in the strategically important region.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “I welcome the understanding reached between the United States and Iran on ending the conflict in West Asia, which has caused serious economic disruption across the world and led to loss of life in many countries.”

“India hopes that the implementation of this understanding will help restore peace and stability in the region and ensure the freedom of navigation and commerce. We look forward to deliberations on the remaining issues reaching a sustainable final agreement,” he added.
