Putin invites Trump to Moscow for next meet

Trump confirmed that he would like to see the meeting take place, though it might come with certain political pushback.

Russian President Vladimir Putin offers to host US President Donald Trump 'next time in Moscow'.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a rare move, invited President Donald Trump to Moscow for the next round of talks. He invited the US president in English after their first formal summit in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday, where the two leaders discussed the ongoing Ukraine war.

Trump confirmed that he would like to see the meeting take place, though it might come with certain political pushback. During his media interaction after the meeting with Putin, Trump said it was “extremely productive” and said, “We didn’t get there, but we have a very good chance of getting there,” implying no deal had been reached yet.

He said his talks with the Russian counterpart ended on a positive note with some reported progress; he admired Putin and his leadership style and described the relationship with him as strong. “Today’s agreements will help us restart pragmatic relations,” Trump said.

Soon after the press conference, Trump thanked Putin and said he expected the two to meet again after a short while to discuss the Ukraine crisis.
Putin’s switch to English while inviting Trump to Moscow saw two leaders enjoying a lighter moment in a high-stakes meeting. “Next time in Moscow,” Putin said in English.

“That’s an interesting one,” Trump replied. “I’ll get a little heat for that one. But I can see it possibly happening.” Putin expressed a similar gesture towards Trump for what he called a “friendly” tone and “results-orientated” approach, saying it could “start us on the path towards a resolution in Ukraine.”

Like Trump, He described the talks as “constructive” and reiterated his view that there would have been no war in Ukraine if Trump had been president when the conflict broke out. Meanwhile, the Russian authorities have once again questioned the credibility of the Zelensky regime in Kyiv, saying he does not hold any credibility since he wasn’t invited to the Alaska talks despite intense pressure from his EU backers.

Furthermore, the Russian authorities also highlighted a report which said there has been a mass exodus reported from the Ukrainian population, especially of the adult able-bodied men who fear getting drafted into military service. The figure estimated stands between 650,000 and 700,000.
