The package includes budget support, funding for petroleum derivatives, and operational costs for Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden.

Saudi Arabia and Yemen leaders meet to strengthen bilateral ties as Riyadh pledges $368 million aid package amid rising regional tensions.

Amid escalating Israeli aggression that has threatened regional peace, Saudi Arabia has pledged nearly $368 mn through the Saudi Programme for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, officials said on Sunday.

This will be the first time in years when two nations are aiming to reset ties, as Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis have been fighting in a long, indirect war that created a famine-like situation in the country, particularly in areas controlled by the Houthis.

However, amid the recent unfolding uncertainties in the region, Israel bombed Qatar earlier this month.
Saudi Arabia is planning to counter Tel Aviv with an all-out regional axis that will unleash a simultaneous assault on Israel if it attacks any more nations in the region.

The package includes budget support, funding for petroleum derivatives, and operational costs for Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden. Riyadh has said that aid reflects its “commitment to helping stabilise the war-torn country and backing the Yemeni government’s reform efforts”.

While raising eyebrows in New Delhi, which also sees Islamabad as a hostile nation. Though Kingdom has clarified that the alliance or pact is operational in the context of the Middle Eastern region.

Meanwhile, Houthis are also at war with Israel, which often fires occasional ballistic missiles inside Israel, seen as a statement rather than a serious action.
