Three injured in Ukrainian drone strike on Russia

At least three people have been injured in the Russian city of Gorlovka after Ukrainian armed forces carried out a drone strike on Friday night, officials said

At least three people have been injured in the Russian city of Gorlovka after Ukrainian armed forces carried out a drone strike on Friday night, officials said.

As per Mayor Ivan Prikhodko, UAVs first struck on Friday afternoon, damaging energy infrastructure and vehicles. Later in the evening, drones hit a school and an apartment block.


Meanwhile, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) head Denis Pushilin, said at least two teenagers were injured due to an explosive device in a separate incident.

According to Russian foreign ministry stats, as many as 27 civilians have been killed and more than 160 wounded in Ukrainian drone attacks across Russia between September 15 to September 24.


Meanwhile, Russian forces are advancing to take control of parts of Ukrainian land while foraying in the eastern parts of the country.


The Russia-Ukraine conflict has escalated further after a recent statement was made by US President Donald Trump, in which he said that “Washington was ready to supply more weapons aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv.”


The statement drew criticism from Russian authorities, who have ordered another push on the battlefield against Kyiv forces.


Despite a bilateral meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, the war in Ukraine appears to be heading for a more confrontational and deadly phase.


Thousands of people have lost their lives in the deadly conflict, both combatants and non-combatants. 


Russia views the war as a “necessary measure for its national security”, whereas Ukraine sees it as a war of aggression.
