Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi (second right) meets with U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff (second left) and Jared Kushner (left) at the Presidential Palace in Cairo, Egypt.

US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner praised Donald Trump for securing a much-needed peace deal for Gaza during a speech on hostages in Tel Aviv.

Kushner, while speaking at the hostage square in Tel Aviv, with Steve Witkoff and Ivanka Trump. He said that the October 7 Hamas attack, in which 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage, sparked a military offensive by Israel that has devastated the Gaza Strip and killed over 70,000 people.

"Since then, my heart has not been complete, and it's been a tremendous burden that I've felt to see these hostages come home," Kushner said. Kushner added that he was happy to see the “end of suffering for the people in Gaza, who were suffering despite having nothing to do with Hamas’s actions.”

“The deal will go into effect on Monday, and our celebration will also start on Monday,” Kushner said. Similar thoughts were shared by the US Middle East special envoy Steve Witkoff, who praised US President Donald Trump for brokering the peace plan that has yielded a ceasefire that took effect on Friday.

Witkoff, while addressing charged-up and happy protesters in Tel Aviv, said, "We all owe a debt of deep gratitude to President Trump. In the worst of times, he refused to accept the idea that peace in the war-torn Middle East was not beyond reach.”

“He showed the world that strength and peace are partners; they are not opposites but rather partners,” he said. Witkoff went on to say, Donald is 'the greatest president the world has ever seen.” He also thanked Arab leaders and Muslim nations for their "integral and critical role" in securing the peace deal.

The same US administration, along with the Israeli government, which did not bother to make headway when the protesting families and their kith and kin were suffering on opposite sides of the fence, has now claimed all the credit.
