An Air India Express official announced a significant expansion of the airline’s domestic network on Monday, introducing direct flights on seven new routes from Delhi and Amritsar starting in late October. This move aims to provide greater travel options and improve connectivity to culturally and economically significant cities across India.
The new services will connect Delhi with Goa (Dabolim), Imphal, Lucknow, and Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair) starting October 26. Flights from Delhi to Amritsar will commence on October 28, while services to Jodhpur and Udaipur will begin on November 1. The airline highlighted that these routes will strengthen links between the capital and key destinations known for their historical, cultural, and tourism value.
Under the new schedule effective October 26, Air India Express will operate three daily flights between Delhi and Goa, daily flights to Imphal and Port Blair, and additional services to Lucknow and Sri Vijaya Puram.
The Delhi-Amritsar route will feature thrice-weekly flights starting October 28, while daily flights to Jodhpur and Udaipur will be introduced from November 1. These additions are designed to enhance accessibility and cater to the growing demand for direct connectivity.

In a statement, the airline said, “This expansion underlines our continued focus on enhancing direct connectivity from key Indian cities to regional and international destinations across South Asia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.” The new routes are part of Air India Express’s broader strategy to build a more inclusive and accessible travel network by connecting major metropolitan hubs with destinations rich in history and tourism appeal.
The announcement comes as part of the airline’s rapid expansion over the past year, during which it has introduced several new domestic and international routes from its primary hubs in Delhi and Bengaluru. With a fleet of 115 aircraft and operating over 500 daily flights, Air India Express now serves 43 domestic and 17 international destinations, reinforcing its position as a key player in India’s aviation sector and its commitment to meeting diverse travel needs.
