The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday recreated the crime scene in the alleged dowry death case of former model and actor Twisha Sharma, taking her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh to their residence in Katara Hills, Bhopal.
Officials said the exercise formed part of the agency's ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sharma's death on May 12.
CBI officers, accompanied by forensic and crime scene experts, asked the two accused to provide a detailed account of the events leading up to and following the incident. Videos from the site showed investigators using a mannequin believed to be similar in weight to Sharma to reconstruct the sequence of events.
According to officials, the agency sought to establish a minute-by-minute timeline of the incident. During the reconstruction, Giribala Singh was seen explaining events after Sharma was found dead, while Samarth Singh was also questioned about his version of the incident.
The investigation stems from allegations by Sharma's family that she was subjected to dowry harassment, mental cruelty and domestic violence by her husband and mother-in-law after her marriage in December 2025.

According to the FIR, Samarth Singh brought Sharma to AIIMS Bhopal late on May 12, claiming she had died by suicide. Hospital authorities subsequently informed police that she had been brought dead, leading to the registration of a medico-legal case.
A post-mortem examination later concluded that Sharma died due to "antemortem hanging by ligature". The report also recorded multiple antemortem injuries on her body, indicating blunt-force trauma.
Her family has alleged that Sharma was repeatedly harassed over dowry demands and was under severe emotional distress. The FIR states that she spoke to her mother shortly before her death and that her husband could allegedly be heard shouting during the conversation before the call abruptly ended.
The case was initially investigated by a Special Investigation Team before being transferred to the CBI. Samarth Singh was subsequently arrested after surrendering, while Giribala Singh, a former district judge, was arrested on May 28 after the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled her anticipatory bail.
Both accused are currently in CBI custody as the agency continues its probe into the circumstances surrounding Sharma's death.
