The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will recreate the sequence of events surrounding the death of Twisha Sharma at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal, using an 80-kg dummy to verify claims made by the accused.
Sources said the agency will take Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, to the Katara Hills residence where she was found hanging on May 12.
Investigators are seeking to test the account given by the accused regarding how Twisha’s body was brought down. Samarth has reportedly told investigators that he lowered her body after finding her hanging, while Giribala allegedly untied the knot around her neck.
During the reconstruction exercise, Samarth will be asked to demonstrate how he brought down the body using the dummy, while Giribala will recreate the process of untying the knot. The CBI is also expected to examine the strength of the belt allegedly used in the incident to determine whether it could bear the required weight.

The exercise forms part of a broader forensic investigation aimed at matching witness statements with physical evidence and the layout of the crime scene.
The development follows Giribala Singh’s arrest after the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled her anticipatory bail. A court has remanded both Giribala and Samarth Singh to CBI custody until June 2.
Sources said investigators are likely to question the two separately and later confront them with each other’s statements to identify inconsistencies.
The agency had earlier conducted an extensive forensic inspection of the residence with a specialised team from Delhi. The reconstruction is expected to be a key step in determining whether the accused’s version is supported by forensic evidence.
