The CBSE has released the Class 10 and 12 board exam schedule for 2026, with exams beginning on February 17. The date sheet, issued 110 days early, gives students more time to plan and prepare strategically.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday announced the date sheet for the 2026 board examinations, bringing clarity and relief to Class 10 and 12 students as they intensify year-end preparations.

According to the official notification, the board exams will begin on February 17, 2026. This is the first time CBSE has released the schedule over 110 days in advance, a move aimed at helping students, parents and schools plan well ahead of the crucial exams.

Students can download the date sheet from the CBSE’s official website: CBSE - Central Board of Secondary Education by following these steps:

  1. Visit the CBSE website and click on the ‘Examinations’ tab on the homepage.
  2. Select ‘Date Sheet’ from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on ‘CBSE Date Sheet X-XII Final 2026’.
  4. Open the PDF file and download it for reference.

The date sheet is also available under the ‘Latest’ section on the homepage.

The early release was made possible due to the timely submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) by schools, which enabled the board to complete scheduling ahead of time. Officials said this step would ease administrative pressure and reduce exam-related stress among students.

“A sufficient gap has been given between two subjects generally offered by a student in both classes,” CBSE said in a statement, adding that the schedule ensures adequate time for revision and balanced evaluation.

The board also clarified that the examinations will begin daily at 10:30 a.m. (IST). Teachers from all subjects will not be away from their schools simultaneously for long periods during evaluation, ensuring academic continuity.
