The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, visited the forward posts of Tri Shakti Corps, and reviewed the operational readiness of the formation.
The army chief was then briefed about the key initiatives of the formation aimed at enhancing preparedness, jointmanship and integration of technology in the sector, providing a detailed overview of the current strategic landscape, said the official statement.
Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps is responsible for guarding the Sikkim borders and the other parts of the northeast. They are well trained for high-altitude warfare, especially during hard weather situations like snowfall.
“During his interaction with the troops, the COAS commended their exceptional professionalism and high state of readiness despite inclement conditions. He underscored the need to remain agile and reaffirmed the importance of sustained vigilance and continuous operational preparedness,” wrote the official X handle of the Indian Army.
This week, the chief also paid a visit to the Black Cat Division.
