Delhi’s air quality seems to have “improved” on Wednesday, showing ‘very poor’ levels of air quality index (AQI), as per data by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The national capital’s AQI stood at 336 in the morning, as against 415 on Tuesday, which is a category slotted as ‘severe’.
Of Delhi’s 40 air quality monitoring stations, 36 recorded AQI in the ‘very poor’ category, and Nehru Nagar recorded the highest reading of 392, the CPCB’s Sameer app showed.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
Meanwhile, temperature remained around 10.2 degrees Celsius, interspersed with fog and smog that reduced visibility in some parts in the morning and evening. The humidity level stood at 100 per cent.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 19 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. It has forecast moderate fog during the day.
