Foreign devotees call 'Amrit Snan' at Triveni Sangam 'beyond words'

Foreign pilgrims took part in the third 'Amrit Snan' at Triveni Sangam on Basant Panchami, describing the experience as energising and beyond words, with thousands joining in the sacred ritual.

A foreign devotee experiences spiritual bliss during Amrit Snan at the Triveni Sangam on Basant Panchami in Prayagraj.


Foreign pilgrims on Monday, on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, took part in the third 'Amrit Snan' at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati.

 

Pilgrims from Slovenia, Ukraine, and Germany described their experience as energising, blessed, and beyond words.

 

A devotee from Slovenia, who was also celebrating his birthday on the day, expressed his gratitude, saying, "This is very special because today is my birthday. I celebrated it by taking a holy dip. It is amazing, and I thank India, Maa Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, the people, and the sages."

 

A German devotee, clearly excited by the spiritual experience, said, "I'm so excited. It's amazing. It feels very energising."

 

A Ukrainian pilgrim, participating in his second Maha Kumbh, referred to the moment as “the happiest day of my life.”

 

Reflecting on the deep impact of the spiritual ritual, he added, “I am feeling amazing and blessed. This is the happiest day of my life. This is my second Maha Kumbh. Amazing experience.”

Devotees from around the world embrace the spiritual atmosphere of Maha Kumbh at a ghat in Prayagraj.

 

For many, the spiritual immersion was an overwhelming and profound experience. “It is an experience beyond words, and I feel very blessed,” remarked another devotee.

 

Another foreign pilgrim echoed similar feelings, expressing immense joy: “I am so happy to be here. I have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.”

 

The spectacle also saw flower petals being showered on saints and seers gathered at the Triveni Sangam, all partaking in the 'Amrit Snan' ritual on Basant Panchami.

 

According to officials, more than 6.22 million devotees had taken a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam by 8 am on Monday during the third 'Amrit Snan'.

 

Since the commencement of the Maha Kumbh Mela on January 13, over 349.7 million (34.97 crore) devotees have participated in the sacred bathing ritual, as reported by the Uttar Pradesh Information Department.

 

Additionally, over 1 million Kalpwasis—devotees observing month-long spiritual austerities—are part of the ongoing spiritual fervour.

 

On Basant Panchami itself, a total of 5.22 million pilgrims took a dip in the sacred waters.

 

The Triveni Sangam witnessed a massive influx of devotees on the occasion of Basant Panchami, as thousands arrived to take part in the sacred ritual at one of the holiest sites in India.
