Guidelines for students about NEET-UG re-exam

The examination will be held in the pen-and-paper (offline) mode in 13 languages.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled to take place next month, after the cancellation of the earlier examination over alleged irregularities and question paper leak.
 
Here are the key updates students need to know about—
1. The NEET-UG re-examination will be conducted on June 21 (Sunday).
 
2. The examination will be held in the pen-and-paper (offline) mode in 13 languages.
 
3. The duration of the examination has been extended by 15 minutes. It will be conducted from 2 pm to 5.15 pm, including time for examination formalities.
 
4. Admit cards, city intimation, and other details will be announced later, by June 14.
 
5. Students will get a window from May 15 to May 21 (until 11.50 pm) to update their present address and choose their preferred examination cities.
 
6. Candidates can indicate their first and second preferred examination cities.
 
7. For candidates who do not opt for the facility, the existing choice of city will be retained.
 
8. No correction in particulars will be allowed except for the present address and choice of city.
 
9. No request for changes will be entertained after May 21.
 
10. The examination fee paid for the cancelled test will be refunded. No additional fee will be charged for the re-examination.
 
11. NEET-UG will be shifted to computer-based test (CBT) mode from next year as part of examination reforms.
 
12. There is no clarity yet on the date for the declaration of the re-examination results.
 
Students and parents have been advised to rely only on NTA communication channels for updates and examination-related instructions.
