Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the Nation, Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation is a definitive statement of India's resolute national security stance. The message is unequivocal: a ceasefire pausing Operation Sindoor is conditional, and every action of Pakistan will be under intense scrutiny. Nuclear blackmail or any act of terror will not be tolerated and will be considered an act of war.

PM Modi made it clear that India will not engage in talks with Pakistan until it ends promoting and supporting terrorism. His words carried the weight of a nation that has endured repeated acts of terror and is now prepared to take decisive action to protect its citizens.

PM Modi has emphasised India's commitment to tracking and punishing every terrorist and their backers, ensuring that perpetrators cannot hide from justice. The government's message is stark: India will continue to take any action necessary to safeguard its interests and its people against acts of terror. India hit nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) following the brutal attack that claimed 26 innocent lives on 22 April in Pahalgam.

"Blood and water cannot flow together" is a direct warning to Pakistan. After keeping the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance and restricting the flow of river waters to Pakistan, PM Modi showed no indication of linking the ceasefire with the restoration of the flow of water. The strategic move to increase Pakistan's cost of sponsoring terrorism, with no indication of reconsideration, continues.

The Prime Minister delivered a stern warning about potential nuclear threats, making it crystal clear that India will not be intimidated by any form of blackmail. He emphasised that any act of terror will be met with an immediate and decisive response. His words resonated deeply with the nation's sentiments.

Reaffirming India's commitment to national security, PM Modi has hailed the Indian Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and scientists for their role in executing Operation Sindoor. His speech was more than a statement of intent—it was a clear declaration that India will hit back at any act of terror, leaving no room for compromise.

As the global community watches, the message is unmistakable: India will no longer tolerate state-sponsored terrorism. Every action will be scrutinised, and any terrorist attack will invite immediate and decisive retaliation. With this bold stance, India has entered a new phase in its fight against terror—a phase defined by unwavering determination to protect its citizens and national interests. He announced India's reliance on Indian-manufactured defence equipment, making it clear that this was not an era of wars, but then this was also not an era of the promotion of terrorism.

Irrespective of diverse political ideologies, the nation today stands firmly behind the resolve to rid the world of terror and its sponsors.
