The 78th batch of Indian Revenue Service officer trainees paid a visit to President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
Speaking to the officers, the President stated that one of the most crucial roles for welfare and government is played by IRS officers. She emphasised how crucial taxes are to a thriving economy.
As officers of the IRS, she continued, they would be crucial in making sure that this vital resource is gathered in a way that is equitable, efficient, and open.
The President said that economic possibilities are more available than ever, our infrastructure is expanding, and digital connectivity is closing gaps. She emphasised that effective and equitable resource management is necessary for development to be inclusive and sustainable.

President Murmu, they have a vital role to play since they will supervise the procedure to guarantee that everyone contributes in accordance with their legal ability and is treated with respect and decency.
"This is a new era of increased efficiency, openness, and convenience has been brought about by shifting times, rising expectations, and government initiatives. "Digital technology is at the core of this change," she stated.
As per the President, the income tax administration employs sophisticated data analytics to identify inconsistencies with exceptional accuracy while preventing inconvenience to law-abiding taxpayers.
She urged cops to keep in mind that technology is merely a tool and cannot replace human values. According to her, integrity and empathy cannot be replaced by data-driven systems, even though they may increase efficiency. She advised them to focus their policies and activities on the advancement of everyone, particularly the weaker and less fortunate groups.
