Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha wished all pilgrims travelling on the Amarnath Yatra a safe, joyful, and spiritually rewarding trek on Friday.  "May the blessings of Baba Amarnath Ji bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to everyone's life," he said.

 

The first group of 4,603 pilgrims set off from Jammu's Bhagwati Nagar base camp, reciting Vedic mantras.

 

The convoy consisted of 231 light and heavy trucks.

 

In his media statement following the flag-off, LG Sinha remarked, "The first batch of Amarnath Yatra +pilgrims has departed from Jammu."

The Yatra has been meticulously planned for three to four years, and this year is no exception. The J&K administration has made the required precautions, and security has been tightened."

Thousands of pilgrims have already arrived in Jammu, with the first batch scheduled to travel under tight security to the Pahalgam and Baltal base

camps, where they will begin their Yatra.

 

The flag-off was attended by famous spiritual leaders, heads of religious organisations, public representatives, senior civil administration authorities, police, security forces, the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, influential citizens, and a great number of devotees.

 

BJP leader Devender Singh Rana also extended his greetings to the pilgrims, stating, "We hope that, with the grace of Bhole Shankar, this year's Yatra will bring happiness and be a nice experience for everyone, as it has been in previous years."

 

People will experience the warmth, affection, and caring of Jammu & Kashmir locals. Pilgrims from all around the country will seek Lord Shiva's blessings.

The Yatra will help to improve both India and Jammu and Kashmir. All the necessary arrangements have been made, he added.

 

CCTV cameras have been installed along national highways to improve security and alleviate traffic congestion.

 

Saloni Rai, Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, remarked, "To improve security further, CCTV cameras have been mounted on the national route.”

 

Around ten CCTV sites have been installed from Udhampur to Banihal for constant surveillance. "If any traffic concerns emerge, we can handle them right away. Our goal is to provide all required amenities for Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, such as food, drink, and electricity,” she said.
