While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a five-country tour, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has referred to him as a "globetrotting" prime minister and questioned why diplomatic missions of the government were "unable" to isolate Pakistan on the international front.

In a video message, Moitra stated Modi is "most likely the one Prime Minister who's flown most on taxpayers' money, seemingly putting India in the world order and ensuring that we are in the top position."

"A few questions, how is it that despite all your diplomatic efforts and all of India's endeavours, that today the free world leader is publicly declaring love for what is labelled a terror hub and is having dinner with its army chief. And worst of all, India and Pakistan have been hyphenated together, something that 10 years ago was unthinkable," Moitra said.

She was notably talking about the recent meeting between the US President Donald Trump and Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir.

"Today, the Indian prime minister and the Pakistani prime minister are being talked of in the same terms. How is it after all your work, Mr Prime Minister, and after the work of our External Affairs Ministry, after all diplomatic efforts, we have been unable to diplomatically isolate Pakistan?" she asked.

"Why hasn't any country come forward and spoken a word against Pakistan after the Pahalgam attacks? We have failed to demonstrate to anyone any evidence of a direct connection between Pakistan and the Pahalgam attacks. Is that not an intelligence failure on our part?" she asked.

Multilateral agencies such as the World Bank and the IMF are giving bailouts worth billions of dollars to Pakistan, Moitra claimed. "We either have been entirely unable to persuade them, or Pakistan's simply done a better job than we have," she said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday embarked on a week-long tour of five nations. "Together, we work towards a more peaceful, equal, fair, democratic, and balanced multipolar world order," he stated during his departure. The PM’s week-long itinerary includes Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia.
