Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a large rally in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on his 75th birthday, referred to reports that disclosed Jaish-e-Mohammad’s admission of losses incurred during India’s Operation Sindoor. He highlighted that the confession from a senior Jaish commander served as evidence that New India responds decisively to terrorism and remains undeterred by nuclear threats from any quarter.

"Pakistani terrorists had wiped the sindoor of our sisters and daughters. We carried out Operation Sindoor and destroyed the terror camps. Our brave armed forces brought Pakistan to its knees within the blink of an eye. Just yesterday, the nation and the world witnessed another Pakistani terrorist tearfully narrating his ordeal. This is a new India. It does not fear anyone's nuclear threats. This is a new India that strikes terrorists inside their own homes," PM Modi declared to resounding applause.

His comments followed revealing that senior Jaish-e-Mohammad commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri, in a now-viral video, admitted that family members of Jaish chief Masood Azhar were killed in the May 7 airstrike on the group’s headquarters in Bahawalpur, known as Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah.

The operation was launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists. In addition to Bahawalpur, eight other terrorist sites were obliterated in what has been described as India’s boldest airstrike deep within Pakistani territory.

In his confession, Kashmiri, surrounded by Pakistani security personnel, acknowledged that Azhar’s family had been "torn into pieces" in the Bahawalpur attack. He further admitted Jaish’s involvement in terror attacks in Delhi and Mumbai, and revealed that Pakistan’s Balakot region had long served as a base for Masood Azhar’s operations and programmes.

Kashmiri said, "Coming out of the bars of Tihar jail in Delhi, Amir-ul-Mujahideen Maulana Masood Azhar returns to Pakistan. To carry forward his outlook, mission and programmes, it is the soil of Balakot that gives him shelter. The soil here and every bit of it is indebted to him The Amir-ul-Mujahideen Maulana Masood Azhar, who shook Delhi and Bombay (Mumbai), appears like this."

He also disclosed that orders to attend the funerals of Jaish terrorists killed in Bahawalpur came directly from Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ), with generals dispatched on the instructions of the Army Chief. According to Kashmiri, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) subsequently attempted to conceal evidence linking Bahawalpur to Jaish-e-Mohammad.

Another significant revelation was Kashmiri’s account of the panic that spread among terrorist groups following Operation Sindoor, admitting that the strike had severely disrupted militant networks. He made a public appeal to unite various jamaats and missions under “Mission-e-Mustafa,” urging fighters to reinvigorate their jihad efforts despite the setbacks.
