The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has successfully secured the freezing of illegally acquired assets worth Rs 9.20 crore in connection with a major amphetamine trafficking case. The office of the Competent Authority and Administrator, operating under the SAFEMA and NDPS Acts, has officially confirmed the attachment orders issued by the NCB following a significant seizure of 95 kilograms of amphetamine in October last year.
This high-profile operation was carried out jointly by the NCB’s operations branch in collaboration with the Delhi Police Special Cell. The coordinated effort led to the discovery of a clandestine amphetamine manufacturing laboratory located in the Kasna Industrial Area of Gautam Budh Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh.
Detailed investigations conducted so far have uncovered that the mastermind behind this illicit drug manufacturing and trafficking network is a businessman based in Delhi. He was reportedly supported by four other individuals, among them a warden from Tihar Jail and a Mexican national. This syndicate was actively involved in the transnational smuggling of synthetic drugs, operating across borders.
All five accused persons have been apprehended by the authorities and are currently held under judicial custody as the investigation continues.
