Commercial flight operations at Noida International Airport will commence from June 15, with IndiGo set to operate the inaugural passenger service, the airport operator announced on Friday following regulatory approvals for its security framework.
The launch marks a significant milestone for the greenfield aviation project in Uttar Pradesh, which has been developed to cater to rising air travel demand in the National Capital Region and adjoining areas.
According to the operator’s statement, IndiGo will be followed by Akasa Air and Air India Express, which are also expected to begin services shortly after the initial launch.
The commencement of operations comes after the airport’s inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the receipt of approval for the Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
The clearance confirms that the airport’s security systems, infrastructure and operational protocols meet regulatory standards required for the start of commercial services.
Further details regarding flight schedules, routes and passenger facilities are expected to be announced in due course.

The airport has been designed with modern terminal infrastructure, streamlined operations and multimodal connectivity to support efficient passenger movement and airline operations.
Authorities said the project is aimed at ensuring a seamless travel experience while offering cost-effective and reliable operational facilities to airlines.
The start of commercial operations is expected to enhance regional connectivity and contribute to economic growth, trade, tourism and investment across the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh.
Noida International Airport, with IATA code DXN, is expected to connect the greater Delhi region to major domestic and international destinations.
At present, the facility includes one runway and a single passenger terminal with an annual handling capacity of around 12 million passengers.
Under its long-term master plan, the airport is projected to expand in phases to handle over 70 million passengers annually during the concession period.
Describing the facility as a “world-class airport”, the operator said it integrates efficient infrastructure with passenger-focused services and commercial amenities.
The airport has also outlined its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions through sustainable design and environmentally responsible operations.
