Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the NDA government’s efforts over the past 11 years to redefine women-led development and empower the nation’s “Nari Shakti.” In a post on X, the Prime Minister emphasised that women are excelling and inspiring many across various sectors including science, education, sports, startups, and the armed forces.

Modi stated that the government’s initiatives, spanning from ensuring dignity through Swachh Bharat to financial inclusion via Jan Dhan accounts, have been focused on empowering women. “Over the last 11 years, the NDA Government has redefined women-led development. Various initiatives, from ensuring dignity through Swachh Bharat to financial inclusion via Jan Dhan accounts, the focus has been on empowering our Nari Shakti,” he said.

The Prime Minister also spotlighted key government schemes such as the Ujjwala Yojana and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. He pointed out how the Ujjwala Yojana introduced smoke-free kitchens in many households, improving health and quality of life for women. The MUDRA loans have empowered lakhs of women entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams independently. Modi also noted the impact of houses built under the PM Awas Yojana in the name of women, and described the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign as a nationwide movement protecting and empowering the girl child.

In addition to women’s empowerment, PM Modi reflected on the government’s pro-farmer initiatives over the last 11 years, highlighting the transformative impact on the agricultural community. He mentioned schemes like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and Kisan Fasal Bima as important welfare measures for farmers.

Modi explained that the continuous increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) has ensured fair prices for food producers while also raising their incomes. He said the government has been privileged to serve hardworking farmers and that its initiatives have not only boosted prosperity but also driven an overall transformation in the agriculture sector.

The Prime Minister emphasised the government’s focus on soil health and irrigation, which have been highly beneficial to farming. He stated that efforts for farmer welfare will continue with greater vigor in the future, underlining the government’s commitment to dignity and prosperity for farmers.

“Earlier, our farmer brothers and sisters were forced to borrow money even for small needs, but in the last 11 years, our government's decisions have made their lives much easier. Be it PM Kisan Samman Nidhi or Kisan Fasal Bima, we have taken many important steps for their welfare. Now, with the continuous increase in MSP, the country's food producers are not only getting a fair price for their crops, but their income is also increasing,” PM Modi wrote in a post on X in Hindi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi first took oath as India’s Prime Minister on May 26, 2014, marking the beginning of this significant period of development under the NDA government.
