PM Modi monitors Operation Sindoor overnight, 9 targets hit

Sources confirmed that the targets were carefully selected based on actionable intelligence, with the primary objective of eliminating top leadership figures of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba—two Pakistan-based terrorist organisations known for orchestrating attacks on Indian soil.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi closely monitored the execution of Operation Sindoor throughout the night.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi closely monitored the execution of Operation Sindoor throughout the night, according to sources cited by agencies. The high-level operation, launched by the Indian Armed Forces in the early hours of Wednesday, successfully struck all nine designated terrorist targets across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

The Indian forces aimed at dismantling infrastructure used to plan, coordinate, and launch cross-border terrorist attacks.

An official statement from the Ministry of Defence stated that the strikes were carried out with utmost precision and discipline. "Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution," the statement read.

The strikes were in direct response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen were brutally killed. The government reiterated its resolve to hold accountable those responsible for what it described as a “barbaric” act of terrorism.

Sources further revealed that precision strike weapon systems from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force were used in the operation. These included loitering munitions and other advanced systems that allowed for highly accurate targeting. All strikes were launched from within Indian territory, and the coordinates were provided by intelligence agencies, ensuring that only verified terrorist infrastructure was hit.

Despite the non-escalatory nature of India’s actions, Pakistan responded with aggression. Just hours after the strikes, Pakistan violated the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in the Bhimber Gali area of the Poonch-Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army, in response, engaged in a calibrated counteraction to maintain control and deter further escalation. The Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) confirmed the development in a post on social media platform X: "Pakistan again violates the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in Bhimber Gali in the Poonch-Rajouri area. Indian Army is responding appropriately in a calibrated manner."

With the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, the Indian government has once again reinforced its commitment to national security and its firm stance against terrorism.
