Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 will serve as a key platform to unite experts from science, education, and research sectors to advance India’s innovation landscape.
Ahead of inaugurating the event at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the Prime Minister announced that the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund will also be launched, calling it a major step to strengthen India’s research and development ecosystem.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Let’s talk science and innovation! At around 9:30 AM, will inaugurate the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam. This forum will bring together key stakeholders from the world of science, education, research and more. It’s a matter of immense joy that the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund will also be launched, giving an impetus to several researchers across India.”
PM Modi will inaugurate ESTIC 2025 and address the gathering, which will include representatives from academia, industry, research institutions, and government bodies.
As part of the programme, the Prime Minister will also launch the Rs 1 lakh crore Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund. The scheme aims to promote a private sector-driven research and development ecosystem across the country, with a total outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore over six years.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology’s statement dated July 31, 2025, Rs 20,000 crore has been allocated for the financial year 2025–26.

The fund will be financed through the Consolidated Fund of India and will provide long-term low or zero-interest loans, equity investments, and contributions to the Deep-Tech Fund of Funds. However, the scheme does not include grants or short-term loans.
ESTIC 2025, scheduled to run from November 3 to 5, will feature over 3,000 participants, including Nobel Laureates, leading scientists, innovators, and policymakers.
Deliberations at the conclave will focus on 11 thematic areas — Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Digital Communications, Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing, Emerging Agriculture Technologies, Energy, Environment and Climate, Health and Medical Technologies, Quantum Science and Technology, and Space Technologies.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, “ESTIC 2025 will feature talks by leading scientists, panel discussions, presentations, and technology showcases, providing a platform for collaboration among researchers, industry, and young innovators to strengthen India’s science and technology ecosystem.”
The event is expected to underline India’s growing commitment to research and innovation while encouraging stronger partnerships between the public and private sectors to drive the nation’s scientific progress.
