Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai on Tuesday. It has been learnt that the purpose of the meet is to review the progress of the India-France strategic partnership.
Their discussions are expected to focus on cementing existing ties and diversifying cooperation into new and emerging areas. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Mumbai on February 17 to meet the President of France, Emmanuel Macron,” an official statement confirmed.
President Macron is undertaking an official visit to India from February 17-19 at the invitation of the Prime Minister. While in the country, he will participate in the AI Impact Summit hosted by India, in addition to holding a bilateral summit with PM Modi in Mumbai. This marks President Macron's fourth visit to India, and his first visit to Mumbai.
At approximately 3:15 pm on February 17, the leaders will hold bilateral talks at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai. Later, at around 5:15 pm, they will also inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 and address a gathering of business leaders, start-ups, and researchers from both nations.
