Debris at the site after the house of Dr Umar Nabi, who drove the explosive-laden car involved in the Delhi blast, was demolished by security forces, in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, Friday, Nov. 14, 2025

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district razed the house of Dr. Umar Nabi, who drove the explosives-laden car that exploded outside the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10, killing 13 and injuring several.

The demolition was carried out during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, security forces said.

CCTV camera footage revealed Umar was behind the wheels of the Hyundai i20 that was filled with explosives, which he drove around the capital city before the blast. Samples of DNA collected from the site confirmed his identity after they were found to be matching with those of his mother.

An academically accomplished professional in his circle, Umar had allegedly turned radical over the past two years, investigators said, revealing that he had joined several radical messaging groups on social media.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir police issued a Red Corner Notice against another doctor from Kashmir, who is believed to have moved to Dubai recently, and is the brother of one of the arrested persons.

Dr. Muzaffar is the brother of Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, who is already in the police’s custody. While Dr. Muzaffar is believed to have shifted to Dubai earlier this year, investigators are now on the lookout for relatives of the arrested doctors who may have travelled to Turkey, Dubai, and Afghanistan to identify links overseas.

On November 7, an AK-47 rifle was recovered from Dr. Rather’s locker at the Anantnag medical college, where he worked as a senior resident until October 24, 2024.

Another medical professional, Dr. Farukh, an assistant professor of obstetrics at Hapur’s GS Medical College, was detained by Delhi police from the college campus on Wednesday night for questioning. He had completed his education from Al-Falah University, which is now under the authorities’ scanner.

The Union government has ordered a forensic audit of all records of the Faridabad university, where a number of suspects studied or worked. The records will be checked by the Enforcement Directorate and other investigative officers of financial agencies to check the money trail of the private institution, whose membership has now been suspended by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

It has also been issued a show-cause notice by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council for displaying false certification on its website, which has since been taken down completely.
