Tej Pratap Yadav, eldest son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, will contest the Bihar Assembly elections from the Mahua constituency as the Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) candidate.
Tej Pratap Yadav announced his candidacy for the Mahua seat in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, representing the newly formed Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), a political party he founded following his expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) earlier this year.
On Monday, the JJD released its list of candidates for the elections, confirming that Tej Pratap Yadav will file his nomination from Mahua on October 16.
Speaking to the media, Tej Pratap said the party plans to field candidates across Bihar. Addressing speculation over who will become the next Chief Minister, he stated, “Whoever will be Bihar’s CM will be decided by the people.”

On his own campaign, Tej Pratap added that he will consult his spiritual guide from Vrindavan before formally submitting his nomination. Highlighting his focus on Mahua, he said, “We have already established a medical college here, now we aim to upgrade Mahua into a full-fledged district.”
This move marks Tej Pratap Yadav’s formal entry into the electoral contest under the banner of his new party ahead of the two-phase Bihar Assembly polls scheduled for November.
