Shot dead in cold blood by her father for allegedly running a tennis academy, Radhika Yadav was cremated in Gurugram a day later by her family members.
Her father, Deepak Yadav, who has reportedly confessed to the crime, used his licensed 32 bore pistol for the murder, said police. He was produced before court and sent to one-day police custody.
An altercation about Radhika’s decision to not shut down the tennis academy that she was running became the alleged reason for Deepak to shoot his daughter three times at their residence at Sushant Lok Phase 2 in Gurugram's Sector 57 on Thursday.
Radhika’s uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, said he heard a loud noise and went downstairs, where he and his son discovered Radhika lying in a pool of blood. Her mother is also said to have been in the house at the time of the incident.
Radhika’s uncle and cousin rushed her to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

During police questioning, Deepak said that he was being taunted by others for “living off his daughter’s income”. He also said he had been depressed for more than 15 days and that the remarks had hurt his “pride”.
Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar said that Deepak ran a rental business and was “financially well off”, which is why he didn’t think Radhika “needed to work”.
However, her academy was her passion, Kumar added.
“He wanted her to shut down the academy, but she refused. He finally shot her dead over the same dispute," assistant commissioner of police Yashwant Yadav said.
