Commander of the United Arab Emirates Land Forces, Maj Gen Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, is on a two-day official visit to India, which began on October 27. Major General Yousef paid homage at the National War Memorial in the national capital on Tuesday. The visiting Commander laid a wreath at the memorial and observed a moment of silence as a mark of respect to the fallen heroes.

On Monday, Maj Gen Yousef met with the Chief of Army Staff (Army Chief), General Upendra Dwivedi, discussing defence ties and military cooperation between the forces of India and the UAE. A detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor was also given to the UAE Commander.

During the visit, Maj Gen Yousef was also briefed by the director general, information system, and the Army Design Bureau on India’s defence capabilities and artificial intelligence roadmap for the Indian Army, it said.

“The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral Defence Cooperation, fostering deeper military engagement, and reinforcing the shared commitment of both Armies towards regional peace and security,” the official X handle of the Indian Army wrote in a post.

"This high-level visit is set to enhance bilateral military cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration, particularly in the areas of training and capability enhancement," the defence ministry of India said, adding, “It will further solidify the already robust defence ties, paving the way for a stronger, future-ready partnership in military engagement and regional security cooperation.”
