Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday took a sharp dig at the Opposition INDIA alliance during a rally in Bihar’s Darbhanga, referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav as “Pappu”, “Tappu”, and “Akku”.

Addressing the gathering at Keoti, Yogi Adityanath said the Opposition had brought in “three monkeys” to campaign for them, drawing a comparison to Mahatma Gandhi’s symbolic trio.

“Just as Mahatma Gandhi had three monkeys, today the INDIA alliance has brought in three monkeys in the form of Pappu, Tappu, and Appu (Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Akhilesh Yadav). Pappu cannot speak the truth or say anything good, Tappu cannot see the truth, and Appu cannot hear the truth,” he said.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also accused the Congress, RJD, and Samajwadi Party of “embracing criminals” in Bihar and compromising the state’s security by “allowing infiltrators”.

“These people cannot see the development done by the NDA. They embrace family mafias and disrupt the state’s peace and security,” he said.

Yogi Adityanath further alleged that the Opposition was attempting to divide people based on caste and religion.

“With guns and pistols, they tainted Bihar’s entire system. These are the same people who divide you by caste, invite infiltrators, tamper with your faith, and endanger national security. Congress, RJD, and their partner in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party, are blatant Hindu traitors, Ram traitors, and opponents of Maa Janaki. We are against anyone who is against Lord Ram and Maa Janaki,” he declared.

The 243-member Bihar Assembly will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.

The Keoti constituency, where Yogi spoke, is expected to witness a four-way contest among the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), RJD, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), and Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a massive roadshow in Patna, urging voters to bless the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming state elections.

As his vehicle passed through flower-adorned city roads lined with saffron flags, crowds cheered and showered petals to welcome him.

During his address, the Prime Minister took a sharp swipe at the Congress, accusing it and the RJD of being unsettled by India’s success in Operation Sindoor.

“The explosions took place in Pakistan, but the Congress royal family spent sleepless nights. The ‘naamdaars’ of Pakistan and Congress are yet to recover from the shock of Operation Sindoor,” he said.

PM Modi also mocked the Opposition alliance for internal conflicts over seat-sharing.

“The NDA is moving ahead with the pledge of Viksit Bharat (developed India). On the other side, Congress and RJD are coming to blows. I am sharing the inside story. A day before the nomination withdrawal deadline, a game of thuggery took place behind closed doors. Congress never wanted to name an RJD leader as the alliance’s Chief Ministerial candidate, but RJD did not miss the chance. They held a katta (gun) to Congress’s head and forced them to announce the Chief Minister candidate,” Modi said.

Both Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Modi’s comments mark an escalation in the political battle ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, with the NDA and the INDIA bloc trading sharp accusations as campaigning intensifies across the state.
