The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government in Delhi, accusing it of failing the citizens within its first 100 days in office. At a press conference, AAP’s Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj dismissed the government’s self-published report card as “false” and “misleading,” claiming it was an attempt to cover up unfulfilled promises.

Bharadwaj alleged that the BJP government had made tall claims but failed to deliver on several key assurances. He questioned the status of the promise to provide Rs 2,500 per month to women and demanded answers on why 10,000 bus marshals, who had been promised reemployment, had not yet been reinstated. Calling the administration “a government of mischievous children,” he said the ruling party was patting itself on the back with a fabricated report card while ignoring the ground reality.

He also demanded an immediate rollback of increased fees in private schools and pressed the government to explain the delay in taking action against a private school in Dwarka, which has been accused of torturing students. Bharadwaj asked why the FIR against the school had not been filed and when the government would act on its promise to take over the institution.

The Rekha Gupta government, meanwhile, released a 100-day progress report titled Kaam Karne Waali Sarkar: 100 Din Seva Ke. The workbook outlined a range of initiatives, including rejuvenation of the Yamuna river, implementation of the Ayushman Bharat and Vay Vandana Yojana schemes, enhancement of water supply through tankers, and the procurement of electric buses. Chief Minister Gupta said the most significant achievement of her government was its commitment to working round the clock for the people’s welfare.

Despite these claims, AAP remained critical. Bharadwaj further accused the government of secretly pushing an education-related ordinance. He alleged that while key details of the proposed ordinance were withheld from parents, they were being shared with private schools. “The BJP has a thief in its mind and is working secretly. If this is brought in the Assembly, the public will know the truth. That's why it's being pushed through as an ordinance,” he claimed.
