Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has firmly stated that his party does not wish to form an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the upcoming Gujarat and Goa elections.
Dikshit’s response came after AAP leader Atishi announced that her party would fight the elections without any coalition with the Congress.
Dikshit, further, took a dig at AAP’s stance.
He said: "... Who is actually forming an alliance with them? They are just flattering themselves.”
He went on to suggest that AAP should align with the Trinamool Congress or Samajwadi Party, which, according to him, aim to weaken Congress.

“The Congress is not forming any alliance with them,” he reiterated.
He also pointed at the Delhi Assembly elections results and underscored that a joint effort by the Congress and AAP could have changed the results. AAP lost over a dozen seats due to Congress, he noted.
Dikshit also flagged concerns over alleged irregularities in Maharashtra’s voters’ list. Several parties have raised the issue, accusing the Election Commission of negligence.
He criticised the poll body for failing to act. “The Election Commission is supposed to serve the public,” he said. “But it seems to be operating with arrogance and is not answering questions.”
The issue has sparked criticism from opposition parties, raising doubts about electoral transparency.
