This will be the third consecutive table-top finish for the Scandinavian country in the Games. As of Sunday, Norway has 18 gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze for a total of 40 medals.
North American powerhouse the United States is sitting in second spot after adding three more medals to its tally. It has 11 gold, 12 silver, and 9 bronze (32 total). Hosts Italy hold third spot with 10 gold, 6 silver, and 14 bronze (30 total), buoyed by strong showings in front of home crowds.
