A wall of an under-construction building adjoining a private school collapsed onto its roof on Saturday, leaving ten students injured, police said. The impact led to a portion of the roof collapsing, trapping students under the rubble, they said.
School staff immediately began rescue efforts and pulled the students out from under the rubble. Four students were seriously injured, while six others suffered minor injuries, police said. All the injured students were taken to BK Hospital for treatment.
After the incident, family members rushed to the school and then to the hospital. Police also reached the spot and inspected the site.
Following the incident, the school was evacuated immediately. Police said they are checking whether the neighbouring construction complied with safety norms.
