Security forces, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, recovered arms and explosive materials from Poonch district on Saturday. The recoveries, including 20 grenades and an AK-series rifle, were made from the Mendhar Nallah area.
Valley-based White Knight Corps, in a post on X, said, “Alert White Knight Corps troops, while carrying out an intelligence-based joint search operation with police, recovered one weapon (AK series), four AK magazines, 20 hand grenades and other warlike stores in the Poonch sector.”
The Army also said the search operation was still in progress and further details would be shared as they emerged from the site.
Earlier this week, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel recovered an AK-47 rifle and a magazine in the Budhwar area.
Earlier, security forces on September 8 initiated a joint search operation in Guddar, Kulgam, which led to the killing of two terrorists. However, two soldiers, Subedar Prabhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu, were also killed in the encounter.
In September alone, the Army has conducted multiple successful operations in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the killing of some terrorists, recovery of weapons, and seizure of drones along the International Border and Line of Control.
