3 dead, several injured in JK Cement plant collapse in MP

Madhya Pradesh: Police, local authorities, and ambulances are on-site for rescue and search operations.

A major accident occurred at the JK Cement factory plant in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district on January 30. A slab roof collapsed in an under-construction section of the plant, leading to several deaths and injuries. So far, three people have died, and over 50 workers have been injured.


Many of the injured workers are in critical condition and have been taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Reports suggest that the accident happened while a ceiling slab was being installed. The central part of the structure suddenly collapsed, trapping many workers under the debris. Around 50 workers were reportedly present at the site when the accident happened.


Local police, administration teams, and ambulances rushed to the scene to begin rescue and search operations. Authorities are working to rescue the trapped workers and provide emergency assistance. The exact number of casualties is still being confirmed.


Khajuraho MP and State BJP Chief Vishnu Datt Sharma has instructed officials to provide immediate help to the victims. He has also directed that all injured workers receive proper medical treatment.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sai Krishna Thota stated, "We received information that some workers are trapped after a slab roof collapsed at the cement factory. As soon as we got the news, the police force was sent to Panna. The Collector and ADM are coordinating with hospitals to ensure proper medical care. The SDRF team is already on-site, and additional rescue teams are on the way. The rescue operation is ongoing, and all necessary actions are being taken."


Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident at the Madhya Pradesh cement factory. The focus remains on rescuing the trapped workers and ensuring medical care for the injured.
