As many as three persons were killed and two others were injured after a car they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck along the Jammu and Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) early Sunday morning, officials said.
The accident took place in the Jagti-Karli area of Nagrota at around 2:15 am, damaging the vehicle, they said.
While two persons died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries in the Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu.
The deceased have been identified as Sikander Saifi, Shakti, and Mohit Verma, all residents of Haryana.
Two others injured — Deepak Verma and Kuldeep Sharma — were admitted to the hospital, the officials said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the accident and initiated an inquiry into the case to find out possible causes leading to the accident.
