Three people lost their lives, and seven others were injured in a road accident in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district on Monday, police said.
The accident happened around 6:30 am in Chathi valley on National Highway-33, under Charhi police station limits. A car carrying devotees from Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, crashed into a stationary truck, officials said.
Charhi police station in-charge, Gautam Kumar, confirmed that three people died on the spot. The injured were taken to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital in Hazaribagh for treatment.
One of the injured passengers said the driver lost control and crashed into the truck after a motorcycle suddenly came in front of their car.
