4 killed, 3 injured in tragic road accident in Bihar's Buxar

Three people were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment.

At least four people lost their lives and three others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident in Bihar’s Buxar district, police said on Sunday. The incident occurred in the early hours near Harkishunpur village along the Buxar National Highway when the car in which the victims were travelling collided with a truck from behind.


According to Sanjay Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Industrial Police Station, the collision happened while the group was en route to Buxar. Three people were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment. The injured are currently undergoing medical care, and their condition is reported to be stable.


The deceased have been identified as Pramod Singh, aged 40, his 12-year-old son Bunty Kumar, Pappu Singh, and Sonu Kumar. All the victims were relatives and residents of Rohtas district. As per local villagers, the group was travelling to Buxar to attend the cremation of Phulpatia Devi, a woman from Bikramganj in Rohtas.


Police have initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
